These meetings will return to the regular location, Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg, on Sunday, June 24, 2012.

Two Narcotics Anonymous campouts will be held the weekend of June 8 – 10, 2012.

PACNA 22: Lost Dreams Awakened (flyer), the Piedmont Area’s annual campout, will be held at Misty Mountain Camp Resort, 56 Misty Mountain Road in Greenwood, VA (map).

NDANA Annual Campout: The Nature of Recovery (flyer), hosted by the New Dominion Area, will be held at Small Country Campground, 4400 Byrd Mill Road in Louisa, VA (map).

Dinner is at 7 p.m., speakers at 8 p.m. and the dance from 9:30 p.m. until midnight.

The event will be held at Best Western Lee-Jackson Inn & Conference Center, 711 Milwood Avenue in Winchester, VA (map).

The Central Atlantic Region of Narcotics Anonymous met in Virginia Beach the weekend of April 21st and 22nd, 2012. The Regional Service Conference was held Saturday and the Group Service Representative Assembly followed on Sunday. Below are some comments from the two-day event.

Denis P., Almost Heaven Area RCM: The RSC was better than I thought it would be. I believe our passion culminated in being of maximum service regarding all avenues discussed. I will be reporting to the addicts in our area and those I network with nationwide the success we achieved in fulfilling our primary purpose. Information was shared, policies were reviewed and areas of improvement were identified, bonds were made in better serving addicts in jails and institutions, the ties that bind us together got stronger for me. It was my first two-day event and it truly generated in me a greater desire to serve.

Kim A: I thought the weekend went very well. I appreciated the hard work that the delegate team and the RSC put into it!! I loved our accommodations…way more than I expected! If we’re bouncing around suggestions for policy changes, I’m thinking that region should pay for rooms for people required by regional policy to attend. Areas should pay for rooms for people required by area policy to attend and groups should pay for rooms for people required by group policy to attend. (The GSR assembly isn’t something RCMs are required to attend but I think their service at this event is helpful to their areas’ GSRs so I’m kind of on the fence about whether or not their hotel should be paid for by the region or their area…if at all)). If the trusted servant needs to drive 4 or more hours and the event starts at 10, overnight accommodations should be provided. It’s all about everyone taking responsibility…. I serve my Area so it’s my area’s responsibility, not the region’s, to try and make sure I don’t suffer undue financial hardship when I attend events on their behalf.

Donna Lee P: I think the weekend went very well. I have had a change of heart about rooms for Friday night after talking with some people. I also think we should take a look at providing some rooms for GSRs. I think people 4 hours away should get rooms for Friday night. It will be interesting to see what can be developed in the policy subcommittee. So many things went well this weekend. I want to think everyone for all of their hard work.

The Central Atlantic Region of Narcotics Anonymous will hold the annual Group Service Representative (GSR) Assembly on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Royal Courtyard, 329 Birchwood Park Dr., in Virginia Beach (map). All GSRs are welcome to attend the assembly from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Monday (Together We Can Group), Tuesday and Thursday (Triumph Over Tragedy Group) NA meetings at Community Services Board, 85 Sangers Lane, Staunton, VA will meet at 1 p.m.

The Triumph Over Tragedy NA meeting at Valley Mission, 1513 W. Beverley St., Staunton, VA will begin at 2:30 p.m. The first Friday of each month will be an Eating Meeting beginning at 1:30 p.m. The group will hold its business meeting the first Friday of the month at 3:30 p.m., following the regular NA meeting.
